James Madison is known as "the Father
of the Bill of Rights" and this series of coins commemorates
the 200th anniversary of that important document. Silver half
dollars, silver dollars and $5 gold coins were minted in both
proof and uncirculated. The silver half dollar obverse was designed
by T. James Ferrell while the reverse of both the half and dollar
were designed by Dean McMullen. William Krawczewicz designed
the obverse of the silver dollar. The gold $5 obverse was designed
by Scott R. Blazek and the reverse was deisigned by Joseph D.
The coins were issued as singles and as two, three
and six coin sets.
