Commemorative Silver Rounds

 In this section, you will find a selection of silver art rounds commemorating historical events. These rounds are pure silver, one troy ounce, unless otherwise noted. The rounds may be pictured slightly larger or close to their actual size which is usually between 38mm and 40mm in diameter.

Shipping & insurance charges are added on at checkout and are based on the total amount of your order from our site (see chart at bottom of this page).

In some cases we may have only one each of these, so please do not order more than one of each without checking with us first.

 The "Mini-coins" in the following table were minted at the Franklin Mint in Pure Platinum (1.3 gr). The images of the coins in their packaging is close to their actual 10mm. size. The larger images are blow-ups to show the detail. The medals are in original mint condition in the package of issue with the COA. Originally, these platinum "mini-coins" were made available exclusively to registered Franklin Mint collectors. Mintages were very low on these "mini-coins".

S. S. Titanic, A Ship to Remember One Pound Pure Silver Commem

This beautiful silver round commemorates the April 14, 1912 sinking of the S. S. Titanic after hitting an iceberg on its maiden voyage. The number of passengers who died that day number 1,503. This commerative round is almost as grand as the ship itself measuring 3 1/2 inches in diameter and almost a 1/4 inch thick. The image above is slightly larger than the real thing. This piece is in original mint condition with some toning starting to appear.

This pure silver one pound commemorative round weighs 16 ounces (14.6 troy ounces) The Titanic silver round is housed in the case of issue, a nice cherrywood box with felt interior, brass clasps, and a lasered image of the S.S. Titanic on the lid.

Carriage Inc. 25th Anniversary Commemorative Pure Silver Pound

This 16 ounce pure silver medal commemorates the 25th Anniversary of Carriage Inc. of Millersburg, Indiana. Carriage Inc. was founded in 1968 and produces several brands of fifth-wheels. This piece exhibits hazy surfaces from improper handling. Maker is not known and there is no accompanying info about this piece which contains 14.6 troy ounces of pure silver. This commem is pictured at its actual size. This medal is housed in a cardboard box with felt-covered insert for the round.

 Longines Symphonette Historical Events Medal Series

These lovely hi-relief, antigue finish, sterling silver medals were minted in 1972 and are known as the Longines Symphonette Historical Events Medal Series. Each sterling silver (.925 fine) medal is in the 1 1/4 ounce range and contains appx. 1 1/5 troy ounces of pure silver. These medals are 40mm in diameter, the same size as an American Silver Eagle dollar coin.

The obverse of each medal depicts an important event, person, or thing while the reverse has a brief explanation of the event portrayed. These medals are in choice original mint condition and virtually as issued. They are serially numbered on the edge and stamped Longines Symphonette and Sterling.

River City Coins has only one of each of these medals, so please do not order more than one of each.
