United States Silver Corporation's Animals Series

The bars in the following table were all minted by United States Silver Corporation (USSC) in 1973 and 1974. Many of these, starting with the "Save the Grizzly", were part of their Nearing Extinction series. This 12-bar Nearing Extinction set (USSC-53 thru USSC-64) was extremely popular with collectors with the Grizzly and Panda bar issues quickly rising in value to over $100 in 1974. Only 999 of the Grizzly bars were produced, but because the issue was so popular, the mintage was raised to 2,000 to meet demand on subsequent issues in this series. All are serially numbered on the reverse. Shipping & handling charges are added on at checkout and are based on the total amount of your order from our site (see chart at bottom of this page).
