 1937 Roanoke Commemorative Half Dollar PCGS MS-67

 The Roanoke commemorative half dollar was issued in 1937 to mark the 350th anniversary of Sir Walter Raleigh's "Lost Colony" and the birth of Virginia Dare, the first white child born in British North America. The obverse features the bust of Sir Walter Raleigh. The reverse has a figure representing Ellinor Dare holding the infant Virginia. The coin was designed by William Marks Simpson. Mintage was 29,030.

This beautiful Roanoke half dollar is sharply struck with lovely toning and mark-free surfaces. A real Gem.
