1921 Pilgrim Commemorative Half Dollar PCGS MS-66

1921 Pilgrim Commemorative Half Dollar PCGS MS-66

The Pilgrim commemorative half dollar was authorized in 1920 to mark the 300th anniversary of the landing of the Pilgrims at Plymouth, Massachusetts. The obverse has an image of Governor Bradford of the Plymouth colony and the reverse depicts the Mayflower, which brought the Pilgrims to the New World. The designs for this coin were executed by Boston sculptor Cyrus E. Dallin using designs furnished him by the commission. The coins struck in 1921 show that date in addition to 1620-1920. Mintage of the 1921 issue was only 20,053.

This 1921 Pilgrim commemorative half dollar is well-struck with nice lustre and virtually no contact marks.
