The Maryland commemorative half dollar was
minted in 1934 to mark the 300th anniversary of the founding
of the Maryland Colony by Cecil Calvert (Lord Baltimore). The
coin was designed by Hans Schuler and features the facing head
of Lord Baltimore on the obverse and Maryland's coat of arms
on the reverse. Mintage was 25,015.
This beautiful Maryland half dollar is sharply
struck with outstanding blast-white lustre and no discernible
contact marks.
