The Lincoln-Illinois commemorative half dollar
was minted in 1918 to mark the 100th anniversary of the admission
of Illinois to the Union. The obverse was designed by G. T. Morgan
and features the bust of Illinois' favorite son, Abraham Lincoln,
taken from the statue in Springfield, Illinois by Andrew O'Connor.
The reverse is based on the Illinois' state seal and was designed
by J.R. Sinnock. Mintage was 100,058.
This Lincoln/Illinois half dollar is sharply struck
with even steel gray toning and has mark-free surfaces. A very
nice example.
