The Cleveland Centennial commemorative half
dollar was minted to mark the 100th anniversary in 1936 of the
city of Cleveland, Ohio on the occasion of the Great Lakes Exposition
held there in 1936. The obverse features the bust of Moses Cleaveland.
The reverse displays a map of the Great Lakes region with a compass
pointed at the city of Cleveland. Nine Great Lakes cities are
marked by stars. The Cleveland half was designed by Brenda Putnam.
Mintage was 50,030.
This Cleveland commemorative half dollar has a
great strike, good lustre and nice toning with virtually mark-free
surfaces. A lovely coin.
