The California Diamond Jubilee commemorative
half dollar was minted to commemorate the 75th anniversary of
the admission of California to the Union. The reverse features
the state emblem, a walking grizzly bear. The obverse bears the
kneeling image of a prospector panning for gold. The coin was
designed by Jo Mora, a noted California sculptor. Mintage was
86,394.
This California commemorative half dollar is well
struck with decent lustre and a minimum of contact marks.
