This lovely half dollar was
issued in 1936 to commemorate the 300th anniversary of the first
white settlement on Long Island, NY.
The obverse features the
accolated heads of a Dutch settler and an Indian.
The reverse depicts a Dutch
sailing vessel like the ones that brought the Dutch settlers
to Jamaica Bay, Long Island in 1636.
This example is graded MS-63
by PCGS.
